Baldvin & Þorvaldur is a family business with a long tradition of craftsmanship. It was founded back in 1905 and has always placed emphasis on various repairs, alterations and new construction of leather goods for Icelandic horses.
The company, which consists of a workshop and store in Selfoss, is now run by saddler Guðmundur Árnason and Ragna Gunnarsdóttir (who is a textile teacher) and their 3 artisan-trained employees.
They offer very solid handmade products, developed and fine-tuned over more than 100 years and carefully selected durable materials.
Even among Icelanders themselves, the brand is very well known and associated with the highest quality and great knowledge of Icelandic horses. We have received many great reviews from users, both in Iceland and in Sweden, so it is great to have the opportunity to collaborate with them.
We have brought in a basic range of handmade bridles to start with. There are pure headgear, as well as with noseband or headband. The bridles are light and flexible thanks to being made of a very soft and lovely leather.
The plan for Tölta is of course to expand the range with more of their fine products over time. If you have any requests for any additional items from Baldvin & Þorvaldur's range, please contact us.
