Freyja has been providing Icelanders with sweets for the past 100 years and is the oldest operating confectionery manufacturer in Iceland, founded in 1918.
Freyja produces and markets a range of world-class confectionery. Primarily for its domestic market in Iceland, but also for export as Freyja confectionery is sought after all over the world. Many of the most famous brands of Icelandic confectionery are manufactured by Freyja, including Draumur, Rís, Djúpur, Möndlur, Sterkar Djúpur, Staur, Hrís, Freyja cream caramels and so on.
Freyja is a family business owned by Ævar Guðmundsson. Taste and quality are paramount at Freyja, and it is the goal of all employees to produce and market the world's best sweets. Freyja has around 50 employees at two locations, in the company's factory on Kársnesbraut in Kópavogur and in the company's offices and warehouses in Vesturvör in Kópavogur.
